I had the pleasure of participating in one of the largest events in the food industry in Egypt this year, as Propac MENA and the Africa Food Processing Ingredient Exhibition brought together more than 300 exhibitors from Egypt, the Middle East and North Africa under one roof. For me, the exhibition was a great opportunity to discover the latest innovations and trends in the food industry in general and herbs and spices in particular, and to interact with suppliers, exporters, manufacturers and innovators in this field. Topics such as healthy and sustainable food, modern food technology, modern cooking supplies and many more are covered. During my tour of the fair, I noticed the quality and variety of products on display, as well as the shared interest in sustainability and natural resources. Seeing herbs, spices and seasonings has had a profound impact on the way I think about food and taste. The exhibition was showcasing a wide range of traditional African herbs and spices, as well as spices that are popular around the world. The thing that impressed me the most was the many herbs and spices that I could not recognize before. It was interesting to see how these herbs and spices follow the historical and cultural ways of being used in cooking and traditional medicine in different countries. Overall, the exhibition left me with a deep impression about the food, and I tasted varieties of herbs and spices that were not on the traditional menu. I find the herbs and spices market very exciting, especially in the African world, and I look forward to opportunities to participate in upcoming exhibitions and discover more of the diversity of food in the world. I strongly recommend everyone to attend this event when it is held in the future.
